5-Stars!  Wow, Read this book. It is exceptionally well done and exciting. The characters are believable and they get into crisis in spite of themselves. I enjoyed this.

19th Five-Stars Review for Amongst My Enemies from Amazon Reviewers

5-Stars!  “It pulled me right into the story.  I felt like a member of my own family was part of the story.  Gripping and tense all the way to the end.  I’d recommend it to anyone who likes mysteries, or historical fiction.  Very believable.

‘Amongst My Enemies’ — “A Must Read for Historical Fiction and Suspense Fans! “

5-Stars!   “A Must Read for Historical Fiction and Suspense Fans!  I really enjoyed this story of Mike Randall and the U-Boat from Nazi Germany.  The story had a very realistic feel to it.  It made me want to go out and research some of the people listed in it . . . The descriptions of the Nazi SS guys had me cringing for their victims . . . Overall, this would be a great pick for history and suspense buffs. It felt real, like the author stole the idea from a headline news story!

“Greed, espionage, and a cold war thriller” — Reader’s Favorites says Amongst My Enemies is an excellent read.

5-Stars!   “William F. Brown captures the ambience of the era. He breathed life in the characters. The plot is an exciting adventure- thriller. Brown skillfully weaves the threads of the story together creating a tapestry that tells the story of Michael and the contains of the missing U-Boat.  I love books that draw you into the scenes so tightly that you feel as if you are there yourself. The author has done an excellent job of researching down to the ‘nth degree of detail. Readers will not feel that anything has been left out in this tale of war, greed, espionage, and real cold war concerns from the past..it is that believable! This is an excellent read and I am honored to have been given the opportunity to review it.      Reader’s Favorites

Suspense novelist Gary Showalter gives Amongst My Enemies 5-Stars!

“A historical thriller in every sense of the word!  It grabs you and just does not let go.  William Brown has a very strong sense of his characters and this shines through in his novel … that is very much a ‘period’ piece; yet it serves to illustrate William Brown’s masterful abilities as a researcher and an interpreter of history. His knowledge of the period and his ability to present his characters as much more that cardboard cutouts serves him well in presenting a thriller from the post-war years.  I strongly recommend this one

4-Stars!   “Amongst My Enemies has a darker feel to it than The Undertaker (which is probably to be expected given the subject matter and the historical setting of the book) and I found myself impressed with Brown’s ability to produce two books that were very different in tone but still provided a similar level of action and excitement.  There are lots of twists and turns, meaning you’re never really sure what’s happening until you’re near the end of the book, although you’ll probably try and valiantly hazard guesses all the way through.  This is a well written book with plenty to offer and if you’re interested in trying a different style of thriller or something with a little bit of a historical edge to it, I’d definitely say you should give this a whirl!”
