My newest release, Winner Lose All, is now out on Kindle.  In the closing months of WWII, as the war grinds to an end in the rubble of Nazi Germany, all eyes turn to the next ‘cold’ one.  I’m sure those who read my other books will enjoy it.   It was reviewed favorably in the New Yorker and in many other major publications in the US.

Set in Egypt in 1962, Richard Thomson was already having a very bad day when someone left a corpse lying on the rear steps of his hotel. Its head had been lopped off like a ripe melon and had been posed so it could look back down at its own body. Thomson is a burned-out CIA Agent and the body belongs to Mahmoud Yussuf, a fat, petty thief who tried to sell him photographs of a long-abandoned RAF base in the Egyptian desert. What the photos have to do with a dead Israeli Mossad agent, Nazi rocket scientists, the fanatical Moslem Brotherhood, and two missing Egyptian tank regiments could start the next Arab-Israeli War or stop it.  Like ‘Night of the Generals’, this is a murder mystery wrapped inside an international crisis.

‘Amongst My Enemies’ was released in e-book last spring.  It is an epic, international adventure thriller set in the 1950′s dealing with one man’s search for redemption and revenge.  Inside an old German U-Boat rusting on the bottom of the Baltic are millions in gold bars, stolen art, and a secret that could tear NATO apart. The only one who knows the truth is Mike Randall, a battle-scarred American who survived four months in the frozen Hell of northern Germany at the end of the war. When he does speak up, he puts a target on his own forehead, one which the Russians, the West Germans, the U-boat’s former owners, the Israeli Mossad, and even his own government quickly take aim at. Some want the gold, some want him dead, and some want proof about a high-ranking spy inside NATO itself. Randall’s wants are much simpler. Caught between the Kremlin and a new, deadly, 4th Reich, he wants revenge and to satisfy some old debts with a steel-jacketed bullet.  It now has 34 Amazon reviews, 20 with Five-Stars and 9 with Four.  It has been my top seller this year.

The Undertaker  is my first original e-book, and came out in 2011.  It is a snarky, contemporary, domestic thriller and an exciting,  fun read — stark terror punctuated by lots of humor and romance.  Pete Talbott is a harried Boston computer wonk still grieving over the death of his wife when he finds himself at the wrong end of Gino Parini’s .45 reading his own obituary, torn from the morning newspaper.  He figures it is all a big mistake, until Parini shows him his wife’s obituary too; and this is a mystery Talbott can’t leave well-enough alone.  Someone with a scalpel and an embalming table is planting bodies under other people’s names.  Sandy Kasmarek runs an art gallery on Chicago’s stylish North Michigan Avenue, and it appears her late-husband is also one of them.  With a photographer’s eye, the quick feet of a black belt, and fingers that can hot-wire a car in seconds, she has the skills you’d expect from a good Chicago catholic-school girl.  Coupled with Pete, even the Undertaker is in trouble.  From a funeral home in Indiana, to car chases on the Dan Ryan, snipers in Washington Square, sleazy lawyers, corrupt County sheriffs, the FBI, and mafia hit men, the Undertaker is a non-stop thrill ride; because if Pete and Sandy don’t stop them, they’ll be next on the Undertaker’s list.  With 54 Amazon Reviews – 28 Five-Star! and 21 with Four-Stars, it’s the best suspense bargain on the net!

In addition to the six novels, I have written four screenplays.   Three of these are adaptations of my novels.   One is original for the screen.   My screenplays have won First Place in the suspense category of the Final Draft contest, Finalist in Fade In, First Place in the Screenwriter’s Utopia -Screenwriter’s Showcase Awards, Second Place in the American Screenwriter’s Association, Second Place at Breckenridge, and received many other awards.  One was optioned.   Many readers have commented that The Undertaker would make a great movie.   Although I’ve already been thru that “Hollywood thing”, if anyone wants to buy it, I already have a great screenplay for it, as with two of my other novels.
